Collective Worship at St. Michael’s

St Michael’s CE (VC) First School is linked to St Michael and St Wulfad’s Church, Stone. We visit on a regular basis with a service at least once per term. These will include, Harvest Celebration, Christmas and Easter. We are happy to be part of this Church family and enjoy the services we attend. As well as taking part in the regular church services, Reverend Rob is a friend  to our school and comes in regularly to see us and lead worship.

Revd. Rob – Rector at St Michael’s and St Wulfad’s Church

I am delighted to be part of the life of the school, and I am especially looking forward to supporting the collective worship, supporting staff and pupils as together we explore faith, values, and the big questions of life.
I aim to play an active role as part of the governing body, helping to nurture the school’s Christian ethos and ensure every child can flourish.
My greatest desire is that young children and their families find St. Michael’s Church a warm, welcoming place where they feel they truly belong. I am particularly keen to offer baptism to any families who would like their children baptised, whether or not they have had much contact with church before. I hope to be an active and visible presence both in the school and the wider community, building strong relationships, listening to people’s stories, and walking alongside families as we share in the life of this wonderful community together.

Outdoor Worship.

During the Summer Term, children experience outdoor worship as part of class worship or paired worship. Outdoor worship offers profound benefits by
connecting faith with nature, fostering a deeper sense of awe and providing a relaxed, accessible environment for community gathering
It breaks the routine of indoor services, reduces stress, and allows for holistic spiritual, physical, and emotional renewal. Children have thoroughly enjoyed this throughout the week. The worship links to the theme they are exploring in whole school worship.

Class Worship Areas

Our children and staff take pride in their worship corners, building on them throughout the year and theming them to our core values or celebrations. The worship corners are interactive, informative and a place for the children to think, reflect and pray.

We have a weekly class worship where our worship areas are modelled, used and added to with thoughts, pictures and objects. We have a wide selection of Bible’s thorughout the classes and prayer books for the children to listen to, read and inspire creativity for their own.
