British Science Week 2026

We enjoyed a whole school challenge to explore bubbles. In Early Years the children explored how to make big and small bubbles. In KS1 the children made bubble shape wands to try and blow different shapes and in KS2 the children had to investigate how to make the strongest bubble mixture! A lot of bubbly fun

Nursery visit - Fire and Rescue

A fun afternoon for our nursery children with a visit from the fire and rescue service. Thank you to Chris for the story time, games and dressing up, learning about fire safety.

KS2 Canal and River Trust day out

The children enjoyed a hands-on learning experience, discovering how the dry docks work, stepping aboard the modern hire boat Martha Ginger, and exploring the historic converted working boat Antelope. The visit was rounded off by the pupils getting involved with operating a lock themselves, bringing classroom learning to life on the canal.

Easter services

Well done to all of the children at St Michael’s for their Easter performances. In Years 2,3 & 4 the children sang beautiful songs at the church to their families and in Reception and Year 1 the children performed songs in school followed by Easter themed activities in the classrooms with the families. Thank you to our wonderful family community for joining in!

Chicks Hatching

Meet Charlie, one of our Reception class chicks! Our children have enjoyed observing eggs hatching into chicks for 2 weeks. We used our phonics skills to choose names for them, enjoyed taking care of them by feeding them and even enjoyed a cuddle once they were a little bigger!

KS2 VR Workshop

“This is the best day!” “I swam with a turtle!” (quoted by children)

An amazing experience for our KS2 children enjoying a VR workshop learning about animals across the world. The children swam with turtles, flew on the back of an Eagle and explored the African grasslands!
