At St Michael’s, we follow the PSHE Association’s KS1 and KS2 model curriculum. Our EYFS incorporate ideas from PSHE Association whilst also following the Early Years Profile strands for PSED (Personal, Social and Emotional Development). This complies with all the new DFE guidelines for PSHE and RSE that became compulsory from September 2026. This is also in conjunction with our local feeder middle schools, who too follow this curriculum, ensuring a smooth transition and the continuity of learning for our pupils.

This spiral curriculum revisits key topics multiple times throughout a child’s learning journey at our school, introducing new topics and then further building deeper layers of understanding. British values are woven through our lessons, helping to prepare children for life in modern Britain and further support them grow into respectful, responsible members of society.
