WOW Days!
Our Team
We have a dedicated team of staff to support you and your child.
Our School Day
Our school day begins at 8.50am when a member of staff is on duty on the main school entrance gates. The school doors open at this time and children enter the building and go into their classrooms.
For the safety of all of our children our school gates are locked at 9.00am. Anyone arriving after this time must sign their child in at the school office. Please note any child arriving after 9.00am will be recorded in the register as ‘Late’. Anyone arriving after 9.15am will be recorded as an ‘Unauthorised Absence’ unless a valid reason is given.
It is vital for your child to be in school, on time, in the morning to allow them to settle quickly into the school day. Please help support us in this by allowing plenty of time to travel to school so your child is ready to enter their classroom from between 8.50am and 9am.
Children in Years 1 – 4 have a morning break time that begins at 10.40am and ends at 11.00am.
Lunch begins at midday and ends at 1.10pm, when children return to their classrooms for their afternoon learning.
Children in Key Stage 1 have an afternoon playtime.
The day ends at 3.30pm. Children in Nursery to Year 3 need to be collected from their class teacher at this time. Children in Year 4 may leave the school ground unaccompanied if the school has received written confirmation of this arrangement.

As such, if you are planning on having your child’s ears pierced we recommend that this is done at the start of the summer holiday so they are not missing out on PE and games lessons when the studs have to remain in their ears for a prolonged period of time.
All school uniform with a logo can be purchased from Trutex located at Unit 11, Emerald Way, Stone Business Park, ST15 0SR
Parent Teacher Association
Who are the PTA?
We are a group of parents and carers, and school staff seeking to support the school and enhance the education of all the pupils of St Michael’s.
What do we do?
A key aim is to fundraise (Stone Town Bonfire, Christmas Extravaganza, Snowball, 10k Race, etc.) to enhance the education of all children attending St Michael’s.
We believe in community, aiming to strengthen collaboration between parents and carers, students, and staff, and above all have fun!
When do we meet?
We meet a few times a term – usually at school. We generally have evening meetings but are willing to promote some meetings during the day to include all members of the St Michael’s community.
Governance
School governors are a group of volunteers who come together as a group called the School Governing Body or Board. They support and challenge the headteacher to get the very best in education for the children and families in their school community.
A governing board has a strong focus on three key issues:
- Making sure the school has a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
Here is an up to date list of our governors and their key areas of responsibility.

Community Recycle Scheme
Community Recycle Scheme
This new scheme donates second-hand, overstocked and end-of-line equipment to schools across the UK. A range of items has already been given away, including shade sails, post pad protectors and colourful fence pales. The full range of items can be viewed online, where requests can also be submitted. Several companies are involved with this initiative, including A&S Landscape a supplier of school canopies.
